Licensing

To access, reproduce or publish AHO material, you must obtain written permission from the Commonwealth through a licence agreement with the AHO.

The Australian Hydrographic Office (AHO) manages licensing arrangements for the use and reproduction of its materials. If you wish to use AHO materials, please contact us to discuss your intended use and licensing requirements.

How to apply for a licence

  1. Contact us to discuss your request. We will determine if we have material that is suitable for your intended purpose.
  2. We will inform you of the most suitable application process, and fees or royalties that may apply.
  3. We will assess your application and inform you of the outcome. We reserve the right to refuse any application for a licence at our discretion.
Your licence agreement outlines the AHO material you are authorised to use and the conditions of that use. All AHO materials, in any format or medium, are protected under the Copyright Act 1968. For further information about licensing or the use of AHO material, please contact AHO Licensing.

Licence Conditions

Your licence agreement sets out the conditions for using AHO material, including any copyright requirements and permitted uses. Licence holders must comply with all conditions specified in their licence agreement. Failure to do so may result in the termination of the licence.

Fees and Royalties
