The AHS Website offers many tools for the Mariner.

  • HTF

    The Hydrographic Transfer Format is the preferred transfer format for AHS sounding data.

  • MGA

    The Maritime Gazetteer of Australia (MGA) is a searchable database containing all the place names used in Australia's official navigational charts.

  • Hydrographic Notes

    Hydrographic Notes are reports conveying information that could be useful to mariners generally. Such information can be used to improve existing charts sailing directions and other navigational publications not only in the Area of Australian Charting Responsibility, but worldwide.

  • Australian Chart Index

    The Australian Chart Index is a collection of Paper Charts, ENC Cells, RNC Region Packs and RNC Day Mariner Packs all linked to Notices to Mariners. The index is available in two formats - Standard and Advanced.

    The Standard ACI provides chart details in an easy to read and navigate HTML based format. The Advanced ACI is presented in a graphical format complete with a zoomable map. Extra features in the Advanced ACI include Waypoint functionality to plot your course and a Chart Basket facitity to collate your charts for easy viewing.
